<title>WORLD REFLEXOLOGY WEEK 2008 - Your Chance to Tell</title>
<link>http://reflexology.org.au/1/Article56.phtml</link>
<description>Will you miss out AGAIN this year?

Many Reflexologists don't like to be seen to be looking for clients. Which is why many don't have enough clients.

World Reflexology Week is the one time in the year when you can put up posters, or give a talk or do taster sessions in your library, gym, supermarket, Age Care Facility or Maternal Health Centre to look for clients without being seen to &quot;sell&quot;. By Telling people about Reflexology in general you are really promoting yourself in particular. Without the hard sell.

It's difficult to do. Standing beside your chair in the foyer of your local Coles or Safeway is hard. Especially on your own. So partner up. Make contact with a Reflexologist you know and do something together. Some time in your area, some time in theirs.

It all means leaving your comfort zone. If you're happy there, helping all the people you want to help, then that's fine. If not, then do something.

Tell people why you love reflexology and how it can help them.
World Reflexology Week 2008. The last week in September. Start planning now.

National Director - Promotions

<title>Update on Reflexology in Australia 2008…..</title>
<link>http://reflexology.org.au/1/Article40.phtml</link>
<description>More and more Australians are discovering the power of Reflexology and including it as a regular part of maintaining their general wellbeing. After receiving a Reflexology treatment the client will feel ‘as if they have received a massage plus more’…. this will be in the form of stimulating the nerve and blood responses throughout the brain, spine, central nervous system and the different systems of the body by reflexing the different points of the feet, hand, ears and face. Reflexology is practised widely throughout the globe with the latest information being publicised at the International conference held recently in Cairns, Australia and further to this the up coming bi annual conference of the Reflexology Association of Australia Limited being held in Sydney in October 2008. Guest speakers at this Conference will be speaking on a wide variety of topics from ‘facial reflexology’ to aspects of ‘the incoming Soul on the Sole of the pregnant feet’.

Qualified practitioners continue to expand their education with post graduate education being offered in the different States for maternity reflexology, baby reflex, facial reflexology and verticle reflexology which is widely used for ‘sports injury’.

Today most people are looking for ways to improve their health and are therefore interested in a well respected complimentary therapist who adheres to a professional approach for improvement of health and general wellbeing…..discovery reflexology now!

<title>Neck Muscles, Heart Rate, Blood Pressure.</title>
<link>http://reflexology.org.au/1/Article38.phtml</link>
<description>It has been suspected for quite some time that the neck muscles can affect heart rate and blood pressure. This has been noted when changes some times occurr, in heart rate and blood pressure, after neck injuries such as whiplash. What was not known is how that could be linked.

<title>Effects of Partner-Delivered Foot Reflexology on Pain and Anxiety</title>
<link>http://reflexology.org.au/1/Article18.phtml</link>
<description>Submitted by a member as an item of interest

I came across this summary of the effect of reflexology on cancer patients. The reflexology was administered by their partners after having being instructed by a reflexologist. The positive results were presented at what seems to be a major cancer conference in the US earlier this year. Although brief I thought it would be interesting for other reflexologists.
