The findings demonstrate that when receiving the reflexology treatment condition, as compared to the control condition, the residents demonstrated significant reduction in observed pain and salivary alpha-amylase. No adverse events were recorded during the study period.

Conclusions: This study provides preliminary support for the efficacy of reflexology as a treatment of stress in nursing home residents with mild-to-moderate stage dementia.

Conclusions: Reflexology, which can be done by nurses, has the ability to reduce the intensity score and cognitive aspects of pain. Therefore, it is proposed to be included in patients’ surveillance.

Results: The research found that the pain scores of the experimental group were statistically more significant than those of the control group (p < .01). The experimental group’s average pain was reduced by the six weeks of foot reflexology. The total PSQI score of the experimental group was lowered.

Conclusions: Foot reflexology is a non-pharmacological nursing intervention that may reduce the pain and sleep deprivation symptoms of RA patients.

Pain Management Nursing

Results: In reflexology and reflexology + PMR groups, a significant decrease in pain severity and fatigue and an increase in QoL were found (p < .05). In the PMR alone group, pain severity and fatigue decreased significantly (p < .05), but there was no significant change identified in QOL (p > .05).

Conclusions: Reflexology and PMR exercises given to gynecologic cancer patients during chemotherapy were found to decrease pain and fatigue and increase QoL

Conclusions: Surgical pain and non-optimal vital signs that are not well managed after surgery causes various complications and decrease patient satisfaction. The results of our study emphasize the power of reflexology in effective surgical pain management and normalizing vital signs and increasing patient satisfaction. We suggest that reflexology be performed to
patients following abdominal surgery.

Fibromyalgia and pain

The Journal of Alternative and Complementary Medicine

doi: 10.1097/HNP.0000000000000178.

https://pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/27763930/

Results: The results of this study implied that the inclusion of reflexology in the routine care of patients with fibromyalgia could provide nurses with an effective practice for reducing pain intensity in these patients.

Epub 2010 Feb 10.

https://doi.org/10.1016/j.ctcp.2010.01.006

Result: Reflexology affected the symptom of pain in multiple areas such as head, neck and arms. Pain started to isolate and decrease.

Conclusions: Reflexology may be helpful to decrease fibromyalgia symptoms. Qualitative research methods and individually tailored interventions are important when researching complementary and alternative therapies.
