~ Meet Marie ~
Board Chair - My early caring career started at the Adelaide Children's Hospital where I undertook 4 years training to become a registered nurse. My early caring career start at the Adelaide Children’s Hospital where I undertook 4 years training to become a registered nurse. I continued being employed as a registered nurse at various hospitals until 2019. The majority of work was in theatres as a scrub assistant. This promoted a thorough understanding of anatomy in a theoretical and practical way. In 1981 I undertook training in Applied and Educational Kinesiology to assist a family member. My initial goal was to help adults and children who had learning difficulties. From that time, I have studied and practiced complementary health in many forms and treated clients with visible success. In 2008 I worked for 2 years as a project manager and research officer regarding eye health in disadvantaged areas in South Australia. At that time, I obtained a Diploma in Reflexology from Aminya in Queensland.
Director - I am a Registered Nurse and have a Certificate in Kinesiology as well as Diplomas in Project Management and Reflexology. Due to an interest in Maternity & Pregnancy, I obtained a Post -graduate Certificate in Maternity Reflexology and have been treating pre and post pregnancy clients for 6 years. I also furthered my studies to include infertility and obtained a post-graduate certificate in Pre-conceptual Care and Assisted Conception and have been treating couples with success. I have been a Director of Research and Director of Promotions for the Australian Reflexology Association for over 3 years and as of October 2021 hold the South Australia Director position. With a great team working with me, we were able to run the 2018 National Conference held in South Australia.
I have interests in water sports including sailing, Kayaking, caravanning and staying fit at the gym.
~ Meet Debbie ~
I’m a Professional Member of the RAoA. I started my journey in 2011 when I took a short course in reflexology and decided that was to be my career, however it was not until 2019 that I enrolled with Perth School of Reflexology and attained my qualification.
I run my own practice in Perth and love the interaction with clients and following their wellness journey with the aid of regular treatments.
Prior to becoming a reflexologist I was in the corporate world as the Transcript Manager for a court reporting service where we held the contract for the District Court.
My role was overseeing the production of court transcripts.
I also worked for 16 years at Parliament House in Perth in the Hansard Department, supervising the monitoring of proceedings and the management of Members of Parliament’s speeches.
I have been a director since 2021 and enjoy being part of the team at RAoA.
