About the Event:
This workshop covers how we build better bones through:
- Breath;
- Posture;
- Exercises;
- Lifestyle / Sleep;
- Food / Nutrition; and
- Yoga.
Very practical interactive session supplemented by slideshow presentation.
A break with food prepared by the presenter will be included.
How To Build Better Bones
- Movement
- Movement based on scientific knowledge and age old yoga principles.
- Improve your posture, alignment and balance.
- Improve your flexibility and strength.
- Learn a short movement practice that has been shown to strengthen your bones.
- Nutrition
- Learn the food for healthy bones: it is more than calcium and Vitamin D.
- Optimize your bone health with a mineral rich diet.
- Improve your gut health and your gut microbiome to optimise nutrient absorption and bone health.
- Learn about Pre- and Pro-biotics and how to increase them in your diet.
- Receive guidance on food labelling and simple tasty recipes that are nutrient dense.
- Lifestyle
- Learn breath practices to help you calm.
- Try a variety of relaxation techniques that can reduce stress and improve your sleep; critical for bone health.
- Identify lifestyle patterns that further support bone health.
About the Presenter:

Clare is a Yoga teacher, Therapist, Ayurveda Consultant & Holistic Dietician based in Hobart and combines yoga and nutrition to work with clients to improve their health and well-being.

Parking is freely available near the entrance door.  To access the car park, enter the narrow driveway off Church Street and drive past the buildings until you can go no further. You will see Block A clearly marked. If you park elsewhere, you can enter the gate on Hutchins Street and walk around to the back of Building A to the entrance door.
